Plum Alexy blev opdrættet i 2000'erne af opdrætter V.S. Simonov i Moskva ved Det All-Russian Institute of Selection and Technology for Horticulture and Nursery, i et af de førende forskningsinstitutter i Rusland inden for havebrug. Sorten var baseret på frøene af blommesorten "Zanyatnaya" fra fri bestøvning.

Modne blommetræer af Aleksiy-sorten vokser underdimensionerede, træernes gennemsnitlige højde er 150-170 cm. Træets krone har en afrundet form med gennemsnitlige fortykkelsesværdier. Bladpladen på Alexis -blommen er mellemstor, oval i form med en spids spids og ujævne kanter. Det mest gunstige sted for vækst er den centrale del af Rusland.
